I built SmarterPik because I got tired of comparison sites that rank products by who pays them the most. Malaysians deserve better tools to make money decisions.
Background
I'm a Malaysian fintech and digital marketing professional who has spent years working across SEO, web development, and financial product analysis. I've personally used, compared, and stress-tested dozens of financial products available in Malaysia — from credit cards and personal loans to broadband plans and digital banking apps.
Before SmarterPik, I built and managed multiple content platforms across Southeast Asia, with a focus on technical SEO, data-driven content strategy, and affiliate marketing done right — where editorial integrity comes before commission rates.
My Approach to Financial Comparison
Every comparison article I publish follows our documented methodology. The short version:
- Data from official sources — I pull rates, fees, and terms directly from bank and provider websites, not from press releases or memory
- Rankings by user value — the best product for the reader, not the highest-paying affiliate program
- Real user perspective — I cross-reference official claims with community feedback from Reddit r/malaysia, Lowyat.net, and app store reviews
- Regular updates — financial data goes stale fast. I run monthly data freshness audits and update articles when rates or terms change
Editorial Independence
SmarterPik earns revenue through affiliate commissions — I'm transparent about that in our affiliate disclosure. But commission rates never determine product rankings. I include products from providers we have no commercial relationship with, and I'll tell you when a competitor's product is better than our affiliate partner's.
No bank or provider reviews our content before publication. No one pays for placement. If that ever changes, you'll know — because I'll tell you.
Why Malaysia First
Malaysia's financial comparison space is dominated by a handful of legacy sites that haven't innovated in years. The information is often outdated, the user experience is poor, and the rankings are opaque. I saw a gap — and SmarterPik fills it with faster load times, cleaner design, and comparisons that actually help people make decisions.
We're starting with Malaysia and expanding across Southeast Asia — Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia — as we grow.
